FABULOUS Aynsley England tea cup and saucer - cobalt blue trimmed with fruit and flower cascades. Pattern number 6720 by John Aynsley & Sons. The backstamp is from the early 1920's. Lovely gold accents outline the large cascading design of grapes, peaches, pears and cherries - mixed with pink roses, blue morning glories and accent leaves, vines and flowers. Each of the five cascades is a different coordinated design. The cup measures 2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter and has a high D-handle accented in gold. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup shows minor scratches from wear and the saucer shows minor cobalt color wash variations. FANTASTIC detail and color in this set! |
