COLCLOUGH fanciful fruits grace this FABULOUSLY designed set - apples, pears, cherries and strawberries are accented in gold scroll work! The gold trim appears to have some variations in tone - some areas have lighter gold. It almost looks worn but not consistently, more like the gold was brushed when it was still wet. This appears only on the larger scroll work on the side - the trim itself is solid.
The tea cup measures 2 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches across. The saucer measues 5 1/2 inches across. Backstamp reads "Bone China B66 0 Colclough Made in England. A Product of Ridgeway Potteries Ltd. PATT No 8248". Probably circa 1970, when Ridgeway Potteries became a division of Royal Doulton.
