FABULOUS Aynsley Bone China teacup with black background, bright California poppies and bachelor buttons. The poppies, which could also be Icelandic or Lake Louise poppies, and black background appear to be handpainted.  Footed and raised relief tea cup with gold trim and flat thumb rest.  The saucer is also gold trimmed with a raised relief petal pattern.  The black paint is so intense, it does show slight pin points of white which could be slight paint chips or flea bite wear.  Very thick paint on this set, you can actually feel the paint ridges on the orange poppies.  Backstamp was used in 1935-1950 era - Reg. No. 765788.  Tea cup measures 3 1/4" across rim and 2 1/2" high, saucer measures 5 1/2" across.  A WONDERFULLY COLORED TEACUP!
